Transportation from Cuiaba Airport to Pousada do Parque Lodge.
The park’s inn is next to the national park of Chapada dos Guimarães and is in a wild area of the region. It is surrounded by 500 hectares of forest and closed, making possible numerous sightings. It was built with reuse wood and has preservation as one of the main objectives.
Its structure has 08 private apartments, swimming pool, restaurant and a beautiful view to the walls of the Chapada. On the property the visitor will still have reading room, steam room, trails, 2 period waterfalls and an observation tower with an impressive view.

Departure for Cuiabá and into the tranaspantaneira. We drive to Poconé (100km). Here we will take the Transpantaneira Highway and start a car safari making some stops to photograph a great variety of birds and lot of caiman, with the possibility to spot deers, coatis, capybaras, giant anteaters, anaconda, and with lucky also jaguars. Arrival at Jofre port at noon (end of the Transpantaneira Road). Boarding Jacare House Boat and lunch on boardwhile the boat sails to the Piquiri River. After lunch, departure of boats injaguar search. At dusk, lecture on jaguars.
The Jacaré Boat Hotel is an ideal base for exploring the Brazilian Pantanal in search of jaguars and other wildlife. The floating hotel has five air-conditioned cabin suites, a lounge, bar, and dining area.
Full day looking for jaguars. After lunch Jacaré Boatnavigates to Rio Negrinho neighborhood, where he receives the group at the end of the day. At dusk there are lectures about the Pantanal.
At dawn Jacaré Boat starts sailing down the river to look for more Jaguars and at lunch time we will depart for another lodge in the Pantanal.
The first is a journey on a paved road along farms and cattle ranches. After reaching Poconé – we take the Transpantaneira Park Road at km “0”. This is a park road at its best, allowing us to drive above the water level, watching the flora and fauna of the Pantanal ecosystem – a photo safari along 146 km of dirt road with several stops along the way for photos and information. Welcome drink on arrival and accommodation. Later, the guide will lead you into an introductory walk through the surroundings of the lodge, explaining our concepts and many conservation projects. Continue to the Great Egret Lookout, a 12 m. high observation tower. After dinner, night walk under the Southern Hemisphere sky.
After breakfast, take a photo safari through private dirt roads towards the Clarinho River.
Reaching its banks, board a canoe and paddle down the river, exploring the forest that grows by the riverbanks and mangroves. Here lives a colony of “ariranhas” – giant river otters. With some luck, you may spot a family playing with their babies and teaching them how to swim and fish. Chance of fishing the elusive piranha, not an easy task, but fun. Enjoy a barbecue lunch under the shadow of the trees (*). Hammocks available to enjoy a “siesta”.
Return to the Lodge in time for the afternoon tea. Later on, trek the Howler Monkey trail to the Howler Monkey Tower, our highest observation point – 25 m high -, for a magnificent view of the sunset.
After dinner, join a night drive in search of nocturnal animals.
After breakfast, enjoy a horseback ride, which will allow you to explore the diversity of the Pantanal landscape including some flooded areas of the Pantanal plain. The Pantaneiro horse are docile and has adapted, through the centuries, to eat with its nose underwater. In this region, the horse is the Pantaneiros’ best friend, a daily companion during work and leisure. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, trek the Rondon Trail towards the 13 m high Jabiru Stork Tower, where you can watch a Jabiru Stork nest. Return to Araras Eco Lodge for dinner and overnight.
In the morning after breakfast, get to know a different area of Araras Private Natural Reserve, by trekking the Ronco trail.
After lunch, join a 2 to 3 hour photo safari towards the South of the lodge, on a safari open truck, in search of the fauna along the Transpantaneira Park Road.
Dinner. Check a list of the wild animals you have met, with your guide.
Early rising, to witness the awakening of the Pantanal at dawn.
Breakfast and departure to Cuiaba, with stops along the Transpantaneira Park Road for photos and a last glimpse of this unique ecosystem.
